Some of the children have been using our computer microscope to look very closely at the items in our nature tray - as well as parts of hteir body and clothing!! It was very interesting looking at the patterns and textures that weren't very obvious to the naked eye.
It seems our 'routine songs' are still a hit! The children do like to pretend to be the staff and sing "on the carpet" and "what a star". Do we really sound like that??? We have also been using our nursery rhyme puppets to sing some of our favourites - and if its been a while since your own renditions of nursery rhymes, you can take a trip down memory lane here.....
Many of our younger children are having great fun in the water tray (as well as the sinks!) - sorry about all the soggy sleeves!! We've had boat races, been eaten by a giant octopus and investigated what happens when you pour bubbles over a writing pad (that will teach me to leave it unattended) but, oh, the magic of watching the ink spread across the page...... (ooohh!!! I feel the idea for a structured activity forming in my head!!)
The sand pit has been transformed into an ice-cream parlour. With cones to fill, scoops to count, flavours to choose and all finished off with a flake - what could be better???
