What a glorious day! A chilly start but still looked forward to our Wednesday Walkabout!
Wednesday Walkabout - half the group travelled outside to explore the area, we discussed what we would see.... what we could hear.... and collected what we could find..... the results are on the display board, so please do take time to have a look. We talked about all the colours we could see and realised that while there were no clouds in the sky, the planes were leaving white trails, and the trees had green and yellow leaves (yes, they are beginning to change!). It's lovely to plan these trips out and record the changes that take place over the seasons in the world around us.
Meanwhile...... the other children made some fantastic vegetable and fruit paintings, while also decorating a box for next week's Harvest Festival (details to follow).
Jill Rowe arrived after snack and told the bible story of God's creation and Adam and Eve. The children were very interested in the animals and listened brilliantly!
After lunch, the group got out most of our selection of puzzles and worked together to complete them, taking turns to have a go, discussing the pictures and remembering to put them away! We also made some lovely models with the stickle bricks, counting towers, sorting shapes and repeating patterns.
A fantastic day for everyone! Check out the photographs for walkabout pictures.
Those families who have joined the Story Sack scheme will be receiving a letter and their first sack, we hope you enjoy them, check out the forum for ideas, feedback
