Well what a fabulous week we have had. We have made bread rolls (any very yummy they were too!) which the children enjoyed for snack.
To make the most of the lovely weather this week, we have taken many of our resources outside, the children liked being able to explore the musical instruments outside - they make a much better noise!
Today was just glorious and another opportunity for FRESS AIR FRIDAY! We filled our new water tray with bubbles and sponges and had great fun splashing, squeezing, squidging and squirting..... and getting wet in the process.
Reception joined us this morning for more parachuse games including the washing machine - how much fun it is to spin!! All the children had a turn in the middle being wrapped up and spun around.
We also dug over the digging tyre, looked for treasure and worms - and found some! The children really loved getting dug in and seeing what lay beneath...
We are very fortunate in how the school building lays, in that we get a lot of shadow shade through the day, so the children had cream, hats, shade and shadow in which to play and find their most comfortable spot!
Fingers crossed that the good weather continues.
This morning we joined the Reception class for our usual session, but with a slight change. First it was onto the field for a game of 'duck, duck, goose'. Then out came the giant parachute. We had great fun as we 'ballooned' the parachute and the children ran underneath, crawled around and over the mountain! With a little sunshine it was a great way to spend the morning!
This afternoon, the children were busy again outside in the sand kitchen, as well as climbing and swinging on the frames. The playdo was made into bugs and beetles - and we counted the legs on all our animals.
The caterpillars are growing day by day, and we are counting down they days until they pupate! Oh the suspense!!
Well the plan was, that providing the weather wasn't too horrendous we would spend Friday outside enjoying a range of activities usually done inside! Upon waking it didn't look too promising..... we started the morning with Wake up Shake up and then moved straight outside, with only a little drizzle! The day turned out to be amazing, with some sunshine later in the afternoon, we couldnt have asked for more! snack and lunch were both enjoyed ouside and the children found it very exciting! We brought out the playdo as well as the caterpillars which we are 'growing'. The children made some fantastic observational drawings which we will be displaying. With waterproof coats and trousers nothing stopped our play as we tidied, swept and cleared up the sand kitchen, after making sand soup! Ending the day with an outside story was just perfect and then inside just to collect bags and belongings. .. the children looked exhausted as they waited to be collected! All that fresh air! We can't wait until next week!
