8 days to go...
Today was very busy for some of our older children who joined Reception assembly, then a quick play before returning to watch the final dress rehearsal of the school performance, very much enjoyed by all 😃.
Meanwhile, a very quiet group enjoys preparing a giant train track using all our new track, trains and carriages!
This afternoon, we tidied, cleared, weeded, watered, planted, cleaned, sorted and played with all the equipment outside! The children were a great help and the outside area is looking better and better!
Home from a hot and busy day at Cutteslowe Park! I hope everyone had a super time playing in the sand and water.... Seeing Mickey Mouse (what a surprise), celebrating those summer birthday (just a little early!), ice creams and feeding the ducks (weren't those cygnets cute?), playing with friends, riding the zip wire (children and adults!), chatting with adult and generally having a wonderful time! It was lovely to see so many mums, dads, and grandparents joining us 😀and so many smiling faces! Thank you everyone, truly a day to remember ☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
Behind every great setting is a great committee, and we are so fortunate to have such a supportive group of parents, and others from the village who are willing to give up a few hours over the year for meetings (with wine and nibbles!), organise fundraising events, and give their opinions on a range of topics affecting the running of preschool. We currently have 3 committee members who no longer have children attending yet area still willing to support us. Our thanks go to each and every member as without a strong and effective committee, preschool wolf have to close. Several groups in recent years around Abingdon have had to do just that, devastating for the staff, parents and children. It is essential that we maintain a good group of parents willing to stand on the committee, no-one is ever asked or expected to do something that they do not wish to, usually when 'tasks' arise members simply offer or volunteer. No special skills are needed, just an interest in what we do, and a considered opinion is frequently needed as we discuss certain aspects of how preschool operates. If you think you might be interested in standing on our committee from September 2015 please send an email and I'll send more information and have a chat. It might be the most fun you have this year!! 😃😃
