Well it was great to get back after our sudden and expected closure on Thursday and Friday! We are pleased to report that the leak has been fixed and all water supplies are in good working order - and the toilets even flush better!!
The children all arrived in good spirits and we had a great registration, each child said good morning and talked about why they were feeling happy today! There were some lovely replies and helped us start the week on a high note!
Throughout the morning we carried out a variety of activities from water play to sand cakes, to animals (and blocks of course!), to singing, dancing, 'copy me' movements, painting, trains and cars...... (and I've probably forgotten a few things too!
We have also had a moon tray with stones, moon dust and astronauts, which has captured the children's imagination. Today we talked about all the things we would need to take for a trip to the moon (ice cream and chips were top of the list!) and then drew our own rocket pictures, which will soon be displayed. We finished the day by sharing our ideas about aliens, how many arms, eys and legs they might have and what colour they might be - I wonder where else our space theme might take us???? I feel the urge for some more papier mache!!
