It’s our Wednesday Walkabout, walkabout, walkabout, It’s our
Wednesday Walkabout, I wonder what we’ll see……
This morning Nicky and Katharine took half the children out on a ‘Wednesday Walkabout’ around the village. Photographs are on display in pre-school.
First job was to remember all our rules - holding hand, not walking on kerb, no running, listening – switch on your ears before we leave!
We stopped to explore all the things the children found interesting…..
the post box, the keyhole on the postbox (the postman must have a key you know!),
we avoided the stinging nettles,
we found lots of leaves and puddles to jump in (it’s a good job we all had our wellies on!)
We found lots of numbers especially on the dustbins.
The children chose to go ‘under’ or ‘around’ the bars in The Gap – they all had a go at swinging!
We talked about what the water hydrant signs are for and what the numbers tell us
We wondered where the steps in North Street went to so we decided to explore them after we had visited the shop
We went into the shop – everyone said good morning!
We saw the postman’s van
Up the steps – everyone counted the 8 steps.
As we walked down the path we were very excited to come across a group of chickens and ducks in a garden!
The children were very surprised when we ended up by the park and we agreed to come back to play another day…..
MEANWHILE BACK AT THE RANCH…….
Marion and Natasha held a games event and the children enjoyed a variety of board games in a quiet environment with no other distractions!!
Snack was well deserved and enjoyed by all, followed by Jill’s Bible story.
This afternoon the weather had brightened up and our select afternoon children enjoyed some outdoor play before story and hometime!
